A RESOLUTION OF THE PINELLAS COUNTY

METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION'S

CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE

CALLING FOR CONSIDERATION OF THE SKY TRAIN PROPOSAL

WHEREAS, the MPO's Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) is aware of the Pinellas Mobility

MIS (Major Investment Study), which is evaluating corridors and technology for a Guideway system for Pinellas County; and

WHEREAS, the Committee received a presentation concerning a Sky Train technology alternative, which is elevated and uses a considerable amount of existing and available equipment and designs; and

WHEREAS, the Committee believes that this technology should be considered, along with the other technologies as part of the Major Investment Study program.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Pinellas County Metropolitan Planning Organization Citizens Advisory Committee, in regular meeting this 22nd day of May, 1997, recommends the Pinellas County MPO consider the Sky Train proposal in the currently-underway Major Investment Study.

At its meeting of June 11. 1997, the MPO

acted to Approve this Resolution for

forwarding to the MIS, Steering Committee

and consultant for consideration within

the MIS program.
